Pizza lovers, rejoice! There’s something different on the pizza horizon at last! Pizza might be an Italian concept, but with Texas Pizza, the heat doesn’t come just from the oven.
Even better: this recipe makes one large round pizza, or many individual pizzas.
The Texas Pizza toppings are as unique as its flavor!
Ingredients:
1 tube of canned biscuits
1/2 cup Texas Habanero Salsa
1 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 cup chili beans, well-drained
1 cup diced cooked chicken, ham, or beef
1 cup thinly sliced jalapeno
What to do:
Pre-head oven to 425, and spray a pizza pan with Pam.
For one pizza, press entire contents of biscuit tube into pan. Cover with Habanero salsa and toppings. Bake, on bottom rack, at 425 for approximately 20 minutes. Remove from oven, cover entire top with cheese and return to oven, top rack this time, for about ten more minutes.
Remove and let it “set” for about ten minutes. Slice it up and step back.
For individual pizzas, use each biscuit by itself. Smash the biscuit into a thin round crust and add sauce, toppings, and cheese. Bake for about ten minutes. The little personal pizzas are great for slumber parties and sleepovers.
