I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream; Texas Pepper Jelly Style
We, here at Texas Pepper Jelly, thought we’d share three different TPJ frozen treats in celebration of National Ice Cream Month. Yep, we know you use our products for a world of savory dishes, but we’re changing it up and going with sweet recipes this time. The combination of our spicy Texas Pepper Jelly and a sugary base create delectable dishes worthy of any occasion. Let’s get started:
First Up, Hot Stuff Raspberry Yogurt Popsicles
Popsicles are the quintessential summertime treat. What’s not to like? They’re portable and they chill you down when the temps are soaring. Our recipe only requires two ingredients, including Craig’s Pepper Jelly, and it whips up quickly. Get ready for fantastic fruit flavor with a kick!
Makes 6 popsicle molds or one ice cube tray
Ingredients:
- 2 cups vanilla greek yogurt
- 2 to 4 Tablespoons TPJ Raspberry Habanero Pepper Jelly (or your favorite flavor)
Note: If you like just a hint of spice go with the two tablespoons of pepper jelly. If you rather enjoy a swift kick of spice four tablespoons oughta do. If you still want to amp up the spiciness with an extra tablespoon or so of pepper jelly, more power to ya!
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine yogurt and pepper jelly.
- Pour or spoon into popsicle molds (follow popsicle mold instructions) or ice cube tray. (If using ice cube trays, freeze for 45 mins. Then place a plastic spoon or popsicle stick in each cube.)
- Freeze for at least 4 to 6 hours.
- Remove from molds or tray. (If using molds, you may need to run them under warm water to make release easier.)
Next, Fresh and Feisty No-Churn Ice Cream
If you love ice cream but think it’s a big pain in the backside to make, have we got a treat for you. This no-churn ice cream recipe means no special equipment is necessary to get a creamy, smooth consistency. Of course, we made sure it also brings a punch. While this recipe calls for a few more ingredients than our other frozen treat recipes, you can still have it in the freezer chillin’ in no time.
