Since many of us have a traditional holiday cookout on this important day, let’s try to create some traditions for people to look forward to, food-wise! Texas Pepper Jelly’s delicious red, white, and blue salsa is made and meant for your Glorious Fourth of July get-together, and we thank all of you who have told us you liked it, and those of you who keep requesting it around this time of year!

Be ready for a few tradition-breakers when it comes to our special Fourth of July salsa, though. For most people, “salsa” brings to mind something red. Not this salsa. Texas Pepper Jelly’s amazing red, white, and blue salsa is an exception to THAT rule! It’s still considered a “salsa,” in spite of its uniqueness.

Texas Pepper Jelly’s July 4th salsa is a fruit salsa. When you serve it on ordinary days – then again, is any day “ordinary” if you’ve sharing your Texas Pepper Jelly product? – we call it simply Spicy Fruit Salsa. On Independence Day, however, when red, white, and blue is all around us, we call it Red, White, and Blue Salsa. Simple enough!

Spicy Fruit Salsa is perfect for these hot summer days; it’s cool and refreshing, and there’s just something about fruit that quenches thirst at a glance.


2 kiwis, peeled and diced
2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and diced (any kind of apple will do, but Granny Smith apples are our favorites)
1 cup of raspberries or blackberries (I use both when I have them)
1 1/2 cups of strawberries, diced
1 cup of green seedless grapes, halved
1/2 cup of blueberries
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
1/4 cup of Apple Habanero pepper jelly
1/4 cup of Strawberry Habanero pepper jelly

What to do:

Put all of the above ingredients in a large mixing bowl and, stirring gently, mix thoroughly. Refrigerate overnight, or at least a few hours.

Put it on the table and step back.

This salsa is delicious no matter what’s dipped into it or what it’s poured onto (ice cream is a gourmet dessert in combination with our salsa; heck, my husband just spoons it into his mouth as if it were cereal.

Oh, and speaking of this salsa and your cereal – in the unlikely event that you’ve got some left over in the morning, it’s AWESOME on your cereal. Any cereal.
